Measuring up to 12cm in wingspan, it features a streamlined, camouflaged body that blends with foliage. Native to Africa, Asia, and parts of Europe, including Corfu, it feeds on oleander and other plants such as the Four-O'clock flower. Its larvae are equally colourful, sporting bright green with eye-like spots. This nocturnal insect is known for its swift, powerful flight and can often be seen near light sources at night.
