Maze-gill Fungus (Fomitopsis quercina)

The Maze-gill Fungus (Fomitopsis quercina) is a woody, perennial bracket fungus in the family Fomitopsidaceae. It is commonly found on oak trees across Europe where it forms large, hoof-shaped fruiting bodies with a pale, cracked surface and a tough, brown interior. As a wood-decay fungus, it causes white rot, gradually weakening its host.
