The Hare's Foot Inkcap (Coprinopsis lagopus) is a delicate and short-lived fungus known for its hairy, egg-shaped cap in its early stages. Its common name comes from the vague resemblance of the young mushroom to the paw of a rabbit. As it matures, the cap expands and often dissolves into an inky black fluid, a process called deliquescence.
