Spotted Fritillary (Melitaea didyma)

A medium sized, orange butterfly in the family Nymphalidae (Brush-footed butterflies)
Flying in May | June | July | August | September

The Spotted Fritillary (Melitaea didyma) is a medium-sized butterfly with a wingspan reaching 35–50 millimetres. The upper side of the wings is a bright orange-brown with dark brown/black markings which are quite variable. It is easy to confuse this butterfly with the Glanville Fritillary.
