Red Admiral (Vanessa atalanta)
A large, black/red butterfly in the family Nymphalidae (Brush-footed butterflies)
Flying in January | February | March | April | May | June | and again in | September | October | November | December
The Red Admiral (Vanessa atalanta) is very recognisable, it has dark black-brown wings, each with an obvious red band. The forewing tips are black with white spots and the underside is multi coloured. It can be seen quite commonly in Corfu.
