Eurasian Sparrowhawk (Accipiter nisus)

The Eurasian Sparrowhawk (Accipiter nisus) is a small, agile bird of prey, in the family Raptors/Owls, with striking yellow eyes and long, slender legs. Its plumage varies, with males displaying blue-grey upperparts and orange-barred underparts, while females are brown and larger. Found in woodlands, gardens, and urban areas across Europe and Asia, this raptor is an adept hunter, preying mainly on small birds.
