Eurasian Curlew (Numenius arquata)

The Eurasian Curlew (Numenius arquata) is a large wading waterside bird known for its long, down-curved bill and mottled brown plumage. It inhabits wetlands, estuaries, and coastal areas across Europe. Their diet consists of invertebrates, insects, and small fish. The Eurasian Curlew has a distinctive, melancholic call, often heard in its breeding grounds. During migration, they travel long distances to wintering grounds in Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia.
