The Longhorn Beetle (Morimus funereus) is a large, flightless beetle found in the old-growth woodlands and deciduous forests of Central and Southeast Europe. Its populations are threatened by habitat loss and fragmentation, and it is a protected species under the EU Habitats Directive. The Latin name translates to "We die in a funeral."
