The Longhorn Beetle (Agapanthia violacea) is a species of flat-faced longhorn beetle found in Europe. It is a harmless beetle that is characterised by its very long, black and grey/blue antennae and a greyish, hairy body. It is 10-15 mm long and its wing cases are a mottled golden yellow and black. The larvae develop inside the stems of herbaceous plants.
