Six-spotted Scoliid Wasp (Colpa sexmaculata)

The Six-spotted Scoliid Wasp (Colpa sexmaculata) is a striking, solitary wasp with a black body and six distinct yellow spots on its abdomen. Found in warm, open habitats, it feeds on nectar but parasitizes beetle larvae underground. Females lay eggs on grubs, which their larvae consume. Despite its bold appearance, it is non-aggressive and beneficial for natural pest control.
