Furrow Bee (Halictus gemmeus)

The Furrow Bee (Halictus gemmeus) is a small, metallic green sweat bee found in southern Europe and the Mediterranean and occasionally in Corfu. It nests in the ground, often in sunny, sandy sites, and forages on a variety of wildflowers. They are socially flexible, living solitarily or in small colonies.
