The Greek Smooth Newt (Lissotriton vulgaris graecus) is a small, slender amphibian found in Greece. Measuring about 10cm in length, it has smooth, moist skin that is typically brown or olive-green with a pale underside. During the breeding season, males develop a striking crest along their back and tail. These newts inhabit ponds, streams, and damp forests, feeding on invertebrates like insects and worms. They are known for their ability to regenerate lost limbs.
